A compilation of images and video dedicated to my friend, the late artist Jason Rhoades. Included is a CV, a visit to Jason’s ranch in the California Desert, and Jason’s last great performance, the Black Pussy in Los Angeles. Recorded at the Black Pussy were musicians Ariel Pink, Jose Maria Cano and Chiquetete, and the soundtrack also includes Moloko, I See Hawks in LA and David Bowie. This video also shows some of the Venice Speedway Grand Prix, curated by Christine Nichols, the reopening of the Mackey Apartments, and Paul McCarthy’s final tribute to his friend and student at MOCA.
